For:
Dynamic
Powerful bass (From this size speaker)
Well defined top/mid
Against:
Placement is hard
Problems with louder volumes
No wireless-inputs
No digital-inputs
Contrary to alot of the competition in this segment, Paradigm choose to make this a a closed cabinet, and not a bas reflex construction. And how you can hear it, fast and detailed bas. The same goes for the mid and high's, they are clear, open and detailed, as long as you don't push the volume too high .
Conclusion
Really like this little speaker, and been using it together in my office setup for a while together with my D/A NAD M51. Fast, dynamic, especially at lower and mid volumes. The Shift A2 is quite well defined in the top and mid, and plays quite well, as long as you don't push it too hard. When you turn up the volume on these beauties, it can sound compromised and quite pushy in the top.
But if you don't wan't to play party loud, then we can truely recommend that you listen to these speakers if you're in the market for a small active speaker!
